Maintain vigilence |
Please note that some other BigBookStepStudy
groups ignore a Big Book direction that the 1980 Hyannis Group
believes is vital to discovery of the "exact nature of our
wrongs (stp5)". AA's Big Book (all editions) step
4 includes, "Referring to our list again, where
had we been selfish, dishonest, self seeking and frightened?"
update (Jan 2002).

Dennis-Yarmouth Public Schools need expanded citizen oversight
July 18, 2002 - NATURE - FIRE RISK of unmanaged overgrowth - Selectman level of Government oversight and criteria must estalish standards and coordinate departments to assure sufficient maintainance of trees and vegetation both private and public. Webpage under construction.
Precycle-Reuse-Repair-Recycle - REUSE reduces costly transfer.
Cape Cod has a unique consumer cycle. New retirees and 2d home folks bring a bounty of household and personal items to Cape Cod. Most don't desire yard or other sales. Time constraints force efficient disposal. Most disposers recognize the value dilemma of their haste to waste and are excited that items might be reused by others.
Life Guarding and Beaches - A drowning of a neighbor prior to 1996 prompted my concern about professionalism and awareness training of lifeguards.
From 1996, lifeguards became more thoroughly trained to scan and report suspicious events even though outside of assigned swimming areas. Lifeguards now advise others and up the chain of command, such as Harbor Patrol or supervisors. Since 1995, rescuers have responded to events which had probability of fatalities otherwise. From 1996 to present, I believe that no drownings occurred on Dennis, Cape Cod, MA beaches.
We must not become complacent about professionalism taught to, and expected of Lifeguards. I visit an E Dennis grave of some one who might have been rescued.
