Our name & location

Rivendell Marine was created as a business designed to repair and restore traditional wooden sailing craft. Our spirit and philosophy, as embodied in the quote by J.R.R. Tolkien, is that a fine vessel need never fade from being proud and strong despite its years.

"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost."

Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings

Our shop in Monument Beach will accommodate boats up to 40 feet for total rebuilds, repairs or modifications. In addition, we enjoy custom construction of classic small craft, the joy of which was sadly lost in recent decades. These pulling boats, daysailers, canoes and tenders enhance the enjoyment of boating itself, each in its own unique and individualized way. Each boat is built on a custom, handcrafted basis with attention to every detail. We believe this trend reflects the spirit of boating for the future, and we are extremely proud to contribute to it.
