I love clouds. Clouds can be whatever you want them to be. Whether
you're lying on a grassy field, playing at the beach, or cruising Cape Cod Bay, our clouds seem special, flying
over our heads or resting on an invisible shelf of air in the uninterrupted sky that's so far removed from
city life.
Angry storm clouds, billowing fair weather clouds, or the wispy feathers of
a weather change all have images and moods to match our own. Some wait up there like playful sheep for us to play
their guessing game. What do you see when you look at a cloud? I've taken pictures of clouds in all their moods,
and I'll include them here for you to enjoy. But of all the clouds that ever will be, sunsets are my favorites,
so mostly I'll share my sunsets.
Sunsets have many meanings to people. Viewed for their beauty alone, or
taken as symbolic of a deeper meaning, promise, or spiritual association, they touch everyone who sees them in one way or
another. And since they, like snowflakes, are never alike, the depth of their meaning is new and fresh every time one
is painted across the evening sky.
Whether it's the end of a day's play or stress and time to rest to
be ready for a new day to come, or the beginning of a romantic evening, or a reminder that all things come to an end
and life goes on, they're never harsh, but speak to us gently with indescribable beauty.
I hope you enjoy the clouds that follow. The sunset pictures were
all taken from the same bluff in Wellfleet over looking Chipman's Cove, Wellfleet Harbor, and out to Great Island, but every
one is painted just for the day that it is saying goodbye and goodnight to.
