Prelude

I was thinking about war and how humans often resort to violence to settle disputes. The Trojan War was ostensibly fought over the fair Helen. However, it seems to me that most wars are about property even though the reasons are often clothed in ideological arguments. This is not good. Humans need to learn the value of negotiation. It is far better for both sides to make concessions, rather than to see the bodies of their children destroyed.

Covenant

I have heard the trumpet sound

and seen the horseman gather

not flesh

but new alloys gleaming

with a crushing power

swift and sure

they have come

from beyond time

knowing the day is ripe

for new beginnings

the very hour beckons

with eager anticipation

for good people to rise up

and destroy the mad overseers

for they are cruel

in their pronouncements

and their greed

is without limit

I have heard the trumpet sound

and have seen the stone carved

with a covenant

holy and new

I have seen brave young soldiers

standing resolute

in the face of ancient wrath

and savage dogma

guardians of the newborn light

advocates of new testament

I have heard the trumpet sound

and felt the cries

of countless souls

rush thru my spirit

molecules dance with overwhelming joy

while whispers

of redemption abound
