You know what happened to me today?
This page is my opinion and is not intended to be construed as fact. I am just rantingand using my constitutionally protected rights. I am not trying to convince anyone.I am not trying to make people feel sorry for me, I am just using this as a forumfor my opinions of things that bother me on a regular basis. Thanks, erh.
September 2001
On the matter of 9-1-1 the day of reckoning with terrorism destroying the WTC and Parts of the Pentagon. Ok of course I am
horrified and upset by all this. BUT the repercussions on innocent
people of Islamic faith by IDIOTS masquerading as vigilantes tells
us just how far we have to go to overcome our hypocrisy of tolerance.
On the other hand people in Boston have been much friendlier to each
other since the fateful day and I salute that. I was angered by
MSNBC coverage the day of the President's address to Congress a week
later in which they tried to tell me that if I or anyone else didn't go along with Pres. Bush's ideas or proposals we were unpatriotic and
downright Un American. well excuse me, but I didn't vote for Bush
nor would I ever number one and number two I reserve to right to
disagree with everything the man says and does. The Afghani people (non-Taliban) deserve to be protected and not bombed. I will protest
any warlike actions Bush puts in motion. I will write my congressmen and tell them not to support him. I will stand up and be counted. Also saw an interesting interview a Muslim american said these terrorists
spoke only for their own interests NOT the interests of all Muslim peoples. He said Tim McVeigh of OK City bombing did it for his
own reasons not representing white Americans. Enough said. Grrrr. Needless to say I want all terrorists hunted down like the dogs they are (on this soil).
January 2001, I hate Christmaswith a passion bordering on madness as some of you already know. But I have to say I hada few miracles that reaffirmed my faith in the human race. Ok so I had to take the bus to get to my job thatnow takes me like 4 or more hours a day to get to and back home. Which sucks bigtime. So Igenerally am a bit crabbier than usual. So the MBTA just instituted bus transfers goodfor 2 hours. So when I got off the bus at Harvard I asked for one. This bus driver wasin a foul mood from ferrying cranky commuters so he told me in no uncertain terms that noI couldn't have one. He was downright rude if you want to get down to it. And he said I had to ask for one when I got ON the bus and that I couldn't use one to transfer to the subway. Well, I went to the guy at the token booth and told him my story. He told me he hates the bus drivers and to not waste my token but to go ahead for free. Cool. Then later that evening while doing the mad dash from the subway to the bus station in record time. I was huffing and puffing up 5 thousand flights of stairs, multiple concourses, cursing everything that is holy to make the 6 o'clock bus so I wouldn't have to wait til 8 pm to go home.So I am stumbling shuffle running panting and I hear this guy running behind me. Hepasses me and then proceeds to hold the door open for me so I can get thru then asksme where I am going and tells me he will run ahead and tell the bus driver to wait. Hello, can you say ANGEL? That guy deserves a medal. He did as he said he would and I goton that bus. Very cool. Then, my final tale. I was suffering Christmas Day the wayI normally do and took to the woods to walk in the frigid air just to get sometime away from insano-ville, namely my family, and I met a young guy walking his dog. Hemade the mistake of asking how my holiday was and me being me, I told him. But insteadof fleeing for the hills like most people he said he could relate and we had thislovely walk with his yellow lab. He is in the marine corps in NC and we commiseratedabout how hard it is to stay true to ourselves in such an ego driven consumer productsmad world where if we didn't have a BMW in the drive and a 2 car garage with 3.2 kidswe were failures in everyone's eyes. We decided that we would if nothing else beseen as having experienced a lot and looked upon as interesting people who ledinteresting lives. So Craig and the others who really made my day when my chips weredown, I salute you. You make the world livable. Unlike all the other cretins, who make lifemore difficult and miserable for everyone just because. I can't promise I willkeep this page up to date. The whole big mess needs major revision but unless I geta laptop and can bang out code a bit faster some things will have to wait.
12/9/97, My HTML for tables didn't work and it is driving me friggin crazy and I feel like an insane lunatic and I am going to bed. So there.
April 19, 1998 The war on TreesI am talking about the incessant ring of chainsaws in the air of Cape Cod. Treesare being hacked down at an alarming rate all over for development. Let's seehabitat for wildlife, or giant annoying weeds and enemies of utility companiespower line stability? I am so sick of it. Sick of seeing the abuse of people landowners so called who strip mine the land, strip mine the soil (and secretly carry it off for profitable sale elsewhere which is illegal but happens all the time --give me a break), lovely tall trees just about to bud are hacked down andreduced to woodchips for some landscaping project. We create a lovely to lookat (completely dead from pesticide spraying and overfertilizing) lawn instead.Next time you take a breath, assh*le tree murderers, thank a tree for creatingoxygen from the carbon monoxide of your hackmobile.
I came up with this one today... I go to this 7-11 and I am bombarded everywherewith the new Star Wars cardboard aliens at every turn and toys at the counter. It occurs to me the damn movie isn't even out yet. So basically the movie isnow a 2 hour long commercial to sell all this plastic crap that will be forgottenor broken by summers end. I mean i saw the original Star Wars and sequels andloved the trilogy. I fell in love with the characters and thus bought a fewaction figures so I could play with them and relive the excitement of the movie. Now in 1999 we have all these stupid merchandise of every conceivable characterin the movie and the critics even said the new movie has bad character developmentand plot. Hello, what have we been reduced to? Are we going to wake up and realize the movie was created as a vehicle to move the toys and other Star Warsmerchandise? I suggest we all just think twice about buying this junk coz itonly perpetuates the selling of America's innocence. That's my rant of the day.
----End of rants... for now----
